Meistersinger Music Audition

Each year, Wartburg awards scholarships to vocal, instrumental, and keyboard musicians. Awards are renewable and start at $1,000 per year. Competition is open to music and non-music majors. Selection is based on musical performance and ability, as demonstrated in an audition.

Open to Instrumental, Vocal and Keyboard (Piano & Organ).
Students may audition in a maximum of two applied areas.
Vocal: Memorization is highly recommended. An accompanist will be provided for you or you can bring your own. Recommended repertoire: TWO contrasting selections from solo Classical vocal literature.
Instrumental: An accompanist is not required. For music, two pieces are acceptable if they are relatively short or one long piece with contrasting sections is sufficient.
Keyboard: Memorization is not required but music should consist of two contrasting pieces. Sight reading is part of the audition but not playing scales.
